On this upcoming Lord’s Day (Sunday, August 18) we welcome the Rev. Leo Frailey to minister the Word. Rev. Frailey is an ordained minister in The Orthodox Presbyterian Church, and a “borrowed elder” on the Session of Lake OPC.
Once again Lake OPC will be hosting a table at this year’s Mentor CityFest, which is scheduled to be held next Friday, August 23 (from 4:00 – 11:00 p.m.) and Saturday, August 24 (from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.) at the Civic Center grounds (near 8500 Civic Center Blvd. in Mentor). Our table will be located in one of the Main Street Tents located off of Munson Road. We will be giving away free paperback (ESV) Bibles and copies of the Gospel of John, free Christian literature, church brochures and information, candy, flashlight keychains (with church info), etc. This is a wonderful, informal opportunity to make our neighbors aware of our church’s presence in the community, to connect personally with people in the community, and to engage in gospel conversations with those who express interest in spiritual things. (This is a very “laid back” and low-pressure outreach! All you have to do is sit back at the table and engage in friendly conversation with those who stop by to check it out.) If you are able to help host the Lake OPC outreach table for an hour or two on one or both of those days, please contact me. In addition, even if you are unable to devote time to hosting the table, just stopping by the table briefly to say hello can help encourage those hosting the table and draw others to come check us out. Please pray for God’s blessing upon this year’s Lake OPC CityFest outreach, and please consider how you might be able to help with this outreach effort.
